AT TERROIR 

At Terroir® is a virtual-expo directory intended to be an international platform of reference for European Quality Products.​
 

The quest for quality is a vital part of the European Union agri-food’s sector strategy on the global market.  In order to identify and address the issues associated on the process of promoting, marketing and management of all the stakeholders involved, a revamped consultation process has been launched by the European Union since 2006 regarding the quality product policy.

As a result of this consultation, a Green Paper has been presented in 2009. The Green Paper puts forward ideas on a number of related issues, problems and needs that quality products policy should address that can facilitate their international recognition and promotion. As a result of all that process of consultation, the European Union has identified the main issues to be addressed.

 

At Terroir® project appears to be an important tool aiming to respond to the following identified issues:

 

NEED FOR PROTECTION: false use of quality schemes indications by unauthorized parties is detrimental to consumers and legitimate producers.

 

INFORMATION: to improve communication between farmers, buyers, and consumers about agricultural quality products origins, how to manage those products and where to buy

 

COMPLEXITY: to make easier for farmers, producers and consumers to approach quality products on the market place.

Why?

Based on the complexity of the project and the amount of information to be manage, we decided to adopt a step-by-step approach in order to create a platform of reference internationally for European quality products.
The website will be a membership subscription according to certain conditions depending if you are a producer, retailer or a consumer.
 

  • First stage:

We will start to create a virtual-expo directory of producers, retailers, importers/exporters of quality products in Europe.
 

  •  Second stage:

We will create a store on-line for producers.
 

  • Third stage:

We will launch international fairs part of a project applying for European Union support and cooperation.

How?

He is the mentor and general manager of the project.

Passionate about life, culture and natural traditions, his goal is to preserve the best traditions of European agricultural products growing, boosting social and environmental role in rural areas.
